The HOBY Ohio North Leadership Seminar is entirely run by volunteers, so they are a critical part of the success of our program. Our volunteers include Adult Staff who are at least 21 years old and Junior Staff ages 16-20.
Volunteer Opportunities
Adult Staff Volunteers
(Ages 21+)
Adult Staff mainly serve as Facilitators for small groups of student ambassadors. In those groups, Facilitators lead students through activities and discussions throughout the Leadership Seminar. The adults are also seen as a mentor to our junior facilitators. Each small group has a Facilitator and Junior Facilitator to lead them throughout the weekend. Adults can also volunteer to assist with operations and photography.

Junior Staff Volunteers
(Ages 16-20)
Junior Staff are volunteers between the ages of 16-20 years old who serve in several roles at the HOBY Ohio North Leadership Seminar. Junior Facilitators assist our Adult Facilitators leading small groups of students. Other positions can include assisting with operations and photography.

Director Roles
(Ages 21+)
Our seminar is not possible without our dedicated volunteer directors. These positions are involved in the year-round planning of our leadership seminar. When we conclude our seminar in June we wrap things up from that year and reconvene in August to begin planning for the next year.
These are the director positions we currently offer at our seminar; Leadership Seminar Chair, Director of Fundraising, Director of Programs, Director of Operations, Director of Recruitment, Director of Staff, Director of Alumni Relations, CLeW Director.
Usually, these positions are filled by returning staff that have moved up in the ranks over the years, but we are always looking for new faces and fresh attitudes to join our family.
